| The costs involved in owning a Web site are of two types: |
- New Customer Setup - $25.00 set-up fee for all new S.W.S. customers.
- Web Site Design - select from:
- Standard Web Package for introductory or simple Web site needs at a set fee.
- Custom Designed Site for larger, more complex applications and more flexibility.
Standard Web Package
Flexibility is an integral part of the Web services provided by Scott Web Service of Wisconsin. However, we do offer a standard Web package that adheres to a specific Web style, size and components at a set price. The Standard Packages consist of a single Web page with a specific limit on the amount of text, graphics, photos and other Web-design features.
Features of the Standard Package include:
- Contact person
- Business name
- Address
- Phone & Fax Number
- E-mail address link
- Up to five graphic images
- Customer-provided text
Also included are navigational links and other HTML design features to enhance your Web page. Additional pages, graphics, etc. can be added to the Standard Web site at any time. These additions would be billed at our standard hourly rate ($50).

STANDARD WEB PACKAGE PRICE: $200.00
Down payment of 50% due in advance. Balance due upon delivery.Weekly (and monthly) Web Site Statistics are sent to ALL customers whose Web sites are designed and hosted by Scott Web Service of Wisconsin. From these reports you can determine:
- how many visitors are coming to your web site each day/week/month
- which of your web pages are the most popular
- how visitors found your site (referrers)
- what terms visitors used in their Search Engine query to find you
- and even which hours of the day the activity on your Web site takes place.
These reports are useful for evaluating how your site is doing and in making decisions about alterations or additions to your site.
Custom designed Web sites offer the most flexibility of design and space for establishing a complete Web Presence. The amount of text, number of pages and graphics that a custom Web site can contain is limited only by the space considerations offered by your Hosting Service.
Custom design services are charged at a straight hourly rate ($50). Design services include Web design, page formatting, scanning of artwork or photographs, computer generated artwork, HTML coding, secure shopping cart, PHP scripting, autoresponders, mySQL database connection, data entry, Web page updates or additions. Lower cost maintenance agreements are also available.
- Following consultation, an estimate and design contract will be provided for approval prior to any work being initiated. Price quotations are valid for thirty days from the date of issuance.
- A down payment of 50% is due in advance with the balance due at time of delivery.
- Registration on the most popular Web Search Engines (including Alta Vista, AOL NetFind, Excite, Hot Bot, Infoseek, Lycos, Northern Light, Snap.com, WhatUSeek, Webcrawler, Yahoo) will be provided as part of all Web packages. Registrations with additional search engines is also available.

Scott Web Service of Wisconsin offers economical hosting services for your virtual, non-virtual and vanity Web site needs. Listed below are feature and price comparisons between virtual, non-virtual and vanity sites. (Depending upon your needs, there are some add-on features available at an additional cost.)
Virtual Web Site:
- The Web address (URL) will be in the form: www.yourwebsitename.com
- Monthly Hosting Fees are $25.00 for 200 Meg.* of Web space. Discounts of 5%,7%,9% are available for paying hosting fees in advance for 6, 9 & 12 months respectively.
- Domain name registration. Domain names must be registered with a domain registration service which assigns TCP/IP network numbers to networks which connect to the global Internet. Domain names can be registered independantly with one of several domain registration services or if preferred, Scott Web Service can do it for you. (Many of our customers prefer to have all their web-related bills coming from a single location.) The annual fee domain registration fee through the registration service we use is $19.00 per year. (No two year advanced registration required as is the case with some registration services.)
Non-virtual Web:
- The Web address (URL) of a non-virtual Web site hosted by S.W.S. will be in the form: www.sws-wis.com/yourwebsitename
- Is not registered with a domain registration service.
- No domain registration annual fee is required for your non-virtual site.
- Hosting Fees are $5.00 / Month for 5 Meg.* Web space. $1.00 / Month for each additional Meg.
Vanity Web Site:
- The Web address (URL) of a Vanity Web site hosted by S.W.S. will be in the form: www.yourwebsite.sws-wis.com
- Is not registered with domain registration service.
- No domain registration annual fee is required for your non-virtual site.
- Hosting Fees are $10.00 / Month for 10 Meg.* Web space. $1.00 / Month for each additional Meg.
Speed and accessibility to Web visitors and Search Engines for virtual, non-virtual and vanity Web sites are identical. Our experience has been that Search Engines give a slight preference to virtual domains over non-virtual or vanity domains. Businesses or organizations requiring a more professional appearing Web presence and/or secure web transactions usually choose a virtual Web site. Smaller organizations or individuals often select non-virtual or vanity Web sites to keep monthly hosting fees low. . . upgrades can be made at any time.
* One Meg. of space is approximately the equivalent of 333 pages (8 1/2" X 11") of 12 point, single-spaced text.
One of the many distinct advantages that a Web site has for advertising or providing customer information when compared with traditional printed ads is that a Web site can be changed as many times and as often as desired.
Scott Web Service of Wisconsin prides itself on prompt responses to requests for changes and updates. Usually an e-mail or Fax exchange is all that's necessary for providing update instructions or requesting modifications. Minor changes or updates are generally be made within a matter of hours.
Fees for changes and additions are charged on an hourly basis. If your Web site will require regular, ongoing changes we can also work out a regular maintenance agreement with a set periodic fee.
Scanning of non-copyrighted images and photographs for use in Web pages, screen savers, desktop publishing, etc. is available at a cost of $3.00/image. Image manipulation is charged at the standard per/hour basis.
- Customers wishing to accentuate their Web pages with professional photographic images can use our staff photographer to provide photos of your product, business, or services. Standard photo services are available at a rate of $50/hour plus travel expenses.
- Photo Decor Prints for your office or home are available from "Reflections Of Nature". Internationally published, professional photographer, Gregory K. Scott, is our staff photographer. His signed original photographic prints are available for sale or rent. Rentals prints that are changed on a seasonal basis provide fresh look to your home or office decor.
